VA’s remarks
I’m back! After getting rather sick then suddenly having to move house, I’m finally set up to record again, and I thought that a Fast FAP was the perfect way to quickly get back into the swing of things, rather than feeling intimidated by the backlog of longer scripts I had promised to record.
I’m not into needle-play, but this seemed like a fun one to record. Mrs H’s scripts always work, no matter the theme. I don’t often do 4A audios. It’s nice that this one will allow both men and women to visualise hurting me. 🫦
I intend to insist on recording a whole bunch of this year’s ‘Spring Fling’ Fast FAP scripts now that Spring is springing on the good side of the world. :)
Technical
First audio produced in my new recording booth that I’ve created in my walk-in wardrobe. This was recorded simultaneously on three (arguably four) microphones. I then decided on their pros and cons, fixed them and mixed them. My Rode NT1-A (large-diaphragm cardioid condenser) is panned 50% left, and my Sontronics Solo (dynamic supercardioid, boosted +30dB by an sE TNT) is panned 50% right. My Zoom SSH-6 mid-side shotgun condenser was in the middle mostly as a backup. It produced stereo that I mixed in quietly to provide a bit of treble. I did minimal muting and EQing in post, mostly just calming down some plosives from the Solo. I left in my breathing and mouth sounds for this one.
Following problems I had with cheap cables, I bought not just a Cordial Peak XLR cable, but also a short Mogami Gold one. Both mics are in shock mounts.
