A journal is found in a cabin…in the woods…and a story of yearning and love is told…

He’s always watched her from the trees. A wolf hybrid...more man than beast, but too different to risk being seen. He watches her wash clothes in the river. Follows her home in secret. Breathes in her scent from the grass outside her door. He tells himself it’s enough. That he can’t ever have her. That she’d be afraid. Disgusted.

But when a wild boar charges, instinct takes over...and everything changes.

She’s not scared. Not of his claws. Not of his tail. Not of the way he growls when she’s close. Little by little, she lets him sit beside her. Share apples. Talk. Touch. Want.

Until one night in the clearing, she pulls him down and tells him yes. Now he’s buried deep inside her, holding back tears as his knot swells and locks them together. She strokes his hair. Whispers that she’s his. That she already was.

And he realises he doesn’t have to stay in the shadows anymore. He

was hers all along. And now… she’s his.
