Hi everyone 💗 I wrote and voiced this short affirmation yesterday based on conversations I've had with friends, mutuals and fellow activists over the last six months. I hope it brings some of you comfort. 💕

You can do this. No matter what anyone else tells you, no matter what you tell yourself... you can do this.

If you need to take a moment to rest, then rest. There’s no shame in resting—there never was. Resting when you need to is, in and of itself, an act of rebellion. It can even be a revolutionary one, especially if you’re resting to regain your strength for the fight.

So, please... rest.

And when you stand up again, know that you’ll be stronger than before, and all the people who love you will support you and will still be there.

If you feel you need permission to rest, you have my permission. If you feel you need an order to rest, I’m ordering you to rest.

So rest, beloved. Rest.
